Venice Beach California
Day 1 - Arrive into Venice
Arriving into Venice we have booked a wonderful house for the 3 days of cycling ahead. We will all meet for a welcome dinner, a chance to catch up with old mates and meet new faces. Staying in the Venice Beach area close to famous landmarks, great eateries and majestic coastlines.
Day 2 - Topanga Canyon Loop
An epic day ahead heading Into the Santa Monica Mountains. Its going to be a big one so keep the hero breakaway for day 3. Topanga Canyon lies just 5 miles from the pier, surrounded by Topnaga State Park, the largest wilderness area within a city limit in the United States.
Day 3 - Fernwood, Tuna, Piuma
If you love to climb then Piuma Road is definitely for you. It is a challenging ascent with breathtaking views of the San Fernando Valley as you climb up. The descent is fast and technical taking you back to The Pacific Ocean.
Day 4 - Decker Canyon
Decker Canyon is one of the most scenic roads along the Pacific Coast Highway. The landscape changes from coastal scrub to light pine forests to chaparral. It's going to be a long day in the saddle but we like to save the best until last
The Domestique Retreat #2 runs rain, hail or shine and from experience this can mean some rain. With over 60 miles-a-day, the routes are challenging and not for the faint of heart. Each day we will ascend over 1500 metres. If climbing is your thing, then this is the retreat you're looking for.
